If we didn’t live through it, we surely wish we could have: such mythical status does the era of Studio 54 hold as a golden age of glamour and excess. Imagine dancing amidst four tons of glitter that swirled like stardust to the beat, with Diana Ross in the DJ booth and Michael Jackson on the dance-floor; or brushing shoulders with Andy Warhol or watching Bianca Jagger made a grand entrance – an exotic queen upon a white horse. The legends abound, and the days of Disco recall a kind of glamour that promises never to be repeated. Except, perhaps, in the bold imagination of a photographer like Pierre Dal Corso. In his latest shoot for Galore Mag, he turns model Zoe Aggeliki into a revived vision of the starlets at the center of those ’70s and ’80s disco days. Paris club Titty Twister provides a modern-day equivalent of the famed nightclub, with bartops on fire and neon signs all too happy to give their two cents worth: If the music is too loud, you are too old cautions one, and What the fuck have you done another implores.
