Freckles and light: Tessa by Vivienne Mok

In an over gossified world, Vivienne Mok leaves freckles and birthmarks untouched. There’s only soft, hazy light that looks like it might have filtered in from the 1970s to break the harsh realism of existence; only wicker chairs and lace curtains to separate a dream world from the real one. And yet with those readily accessible tools her dream world is as fortified and as immutable as any imagination allows it to be. Mok’s light-filled, dreamy worlds are easy to enter – but you never want to leave.

In her latest shoot for Fashionising.com, Mok captures the natural beauty of model Tessa in simple hairstyles and minimal makeup. Instilled with the quality Mok manages to always find – a quality found at the intersection of innocence and sensuality, a quality with no English word to singularly define it – it’s yet another example of her shining auteurship in which styling, beauty, art direction and photography all come from her hand.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
