Girls and cars, the perennial classic

Girls and cars are a timeless combination, especially when the girl is naturally beautiful and the car happens to be a classic Mustang. That’s the ever so elegantly simple concept behind Thomas Babeau’s (thomasbabeau.com) latest shoot, titled simply Noir. It’s not ‘noir’ as you might think of the word, but it does have a certain cinematic appeal.

An accompanying video shows black and white footage of model Oktawia Braun doubling the purpose of her car as a wardrobe and changeroom. The Alabama blues of Big Mama Thorton make it particularly pleasant to watch, perfectly matching to the style of Babeau’s filmmaking.

Styled by Aïcha Laenen, you can view the full shoot at the thumbnails, or watch the video above.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
