A photo shoot is about more than just taking pictures, it tells a story and it invokes emotions. Good or bad these emotions and the inspiration behind the photo shoot is what makes it striking and worth remembering. Photographer Alyona Kuzmina and Stylist Anna Mihalchecova teamed up to create a photo shoot that tells a story and makes you feel.
Entitled “Candy” you don’t really get much color and the typical happiness associated with this treat, rather it is far more somber and monotonous. Styling wise, the looks are very edgy, reminiscent of the concept of hard candy which is more on tough than sweet. Overall, the photos show us someone who is going through a weary phase in life: you feel her questioning all that there is. We feel the gloom that is surrounding her yet we still see hope in her, hope that she will get through the chaos and darkness.
This photo shoot is one that makes you feel and think. They say a picture is worth a thousand words and, time and again, great photographers prove that.
