Karlie Kloss and Daria Strokous don’t lean that way

As androgyny and fashion are increasingly paired through the coming autumn / winter season you’ll see much of this: an interpretation of androgyny that leans towards the sapphic. Sapphism turns heads, but this season androgyny gives it a rather wide berth even if many a photographer will still lean towards it.

And lean towards it Karlie Kloss and Daria Strokous certainly could have on their rather awkwardly posed Numero cover. We put that down to the metallics of the dress that dominated Jean Paul Gaultier’s Haute Couture Autumn 2012 collection.

The cover and accompanying editorial were photographed by Karl Lagerfeld. You can see a further preview of the Manège Couture photo shoot below, while the full work is available in the September 2012 issue of Numero magazine.

He was 5 when his teacher wrote on his report card “Daniel can’t sit still.” Taking it as a compliment, he’s been on the go ever since. Having flown over 590,000 kilometres in a single year (2012), he’s done much to push the boundaries of a fashioniser, always looking to fold one extra Tom Ford suit into his set of Samsonite cases and for one extra occasion to tie a tie for. As much an editor-at-large as he is Fashionising.com’s Editor-in-chief, when he's not travelling to all the fashion weeks his passports will allow him to, Daniel works on guiding this publication’s editorial and trend views. He is one of Fashionising.com’s co-founders.
