It’s the fashion calendar to get your hands on, and yet the 2012 Pirelli calendar shows little in the way of fashion. Or, more realistically, it shows little in the way of what most people consider to be ‘fashion’: clothes and accessories. Instead the coveted calendar plays to the concepts of fashion and lifestyle, fashion and sensuality, and fashion as youth.
The task of realising next year’s calendar falls to photographer Mario Sorrenti, and it’s been previously confirmed that he’ll be fixing his camera on the likes of Anna Selezneva. What hadn’t been confirmed was that models Kate Moss, Lara Stone, Isabeli Fontana, and Saskia-de-Brauw would be appearing within the calendar’s pages alongside actresses Milla Jovovich and Rinko Kikuchi. And, as something of a bonus, we haven’t just learned that today but also got our first look at the calendar.

According to Vanity Fair who produced the behind the scenes photos:
The protagonists of the 39th edition of the Pirelli calendar are 12 models who worked for the week last of May, in Corsica, in the resort of Murtola.
Among the names that stands out are Kate Moss, naked in her last photo shoot before she married British rocker Jamie Hince. Then there is the Ukrainian actress Milla Jovovich and the Italian Madè Margaret appearing in her first nude photos.
Pirelli calendar 2012 will be released on 6 December, 2012.
