Magical being or mythical creature, living a curse or perhaps epitomizing a blessing, the lady of blood is one to hide under many disguises, but it is utter danger that she ultimately portrays when hunted and facing peril. Sometimes she’s nothing more than a shadow vanishing through the wall, at other times she is raw, freezing magnetism. For photographer Redavell Tjen instead, the witch becomes a metaphor of rare beauty, a troubled soul drowned in a sea of red, a vision of the darkest night.
With a ruined manor serving as her shelter, she lies quietly in anticipation, each drop of blood turned into a breathtaking garment as designed by Anaz Couture and Soko Wiyanto, and styled by Chrisna Sujatmiko. Inspired by Coven, the story imagined by Redavell Tjen puts immense beauty in enchantment, a glowing obscurity defining his spectacular take on witchcraft.
Featuring gorgeous make-up by Sari Liem, and hair by Hendry Than, you can view the complete photo shoot at the gallery. For more of Redavell Tjen’s photography, check his website at www.redavell.com.
