There’s few people really living life as though someone’s watching (over) them, and there are even few of those who think of life as being a script that doesn’t withhold a pre-established ending, still brimming with infinite possibilities that can truly lead anywhere. Thom Kerr envisioned such an other worldly adventure and morphed the inspiration into a photo shoot calling all occupants of interplanetary craft.
The captivating editorial photographed for Black Magazine’s 20th issue, encourages dreaming of something bigger outside yourself, of something trespassing the shores of your world. Like a subtle metaphor hiding in plain sight, the UFO veiled in the sky stands for the alien watching the girl from afar.
Starring Marthe Wiggers – part alien, part your beautiful girl next door – styled by Katrina Sheiles and sporting hair and make-up by the famous Justin Henry (www.justinhenrybeauty.com), the shoot makes use of fashion to paint the world in different colours, to broaden its limits, to inspire.
