Lost dream: a dwelling unknown

Photographer Hilarius Jason asks little of our imagination when exploring this photographic world of fashion and fantasy. With a mirage of imagery he manages to capture what it means to be stuck beyond the levels of the conscious world, and into a space of unconscious desire, fear and inner peace.

Stylist, Zico Halim, brings centuries together by taking the regal styling of the 1800’s and using it in the modern and contemporary way that we see in today’s fashion.  The royal style of dress both draws upon and inspires thoughts of a broader spectrum of eras. The regal design has an absurd ability to draw so heavily from a particular time and yet look as though it is completely timeless.

Together Jason and Halim inspire to create a fashion shoot that is not contained within the norms of frames or even adheres to the notions of reality – therein creating the mystery and beauty that rests within this photography shoot.

Born into the humble town of Franschhoek, South Africa it was little wonder that Chevaun Roux would find her flavour in life through good food, good wine and stylish apparel. After completing a Bacherlors Degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics the world of freelance writing became the first choice in occupation, with no regrets and having never looked back. With a zest for anything with colour, vibrance and essence she found herself diving further into the world of fashion and design; from thifting vintage wedding dresses to pouring through new and modern jewelry pieces. This self anointed bohemian indentity believes in all the partisan revolutionary ideals of love, beauty and freedom, and when she isn’t writing or editing you can find her at the kitchens helm creating her latest milkshake masterpiece.
