Every season has its must have accessories, and when I finished my three tour of the autumn / fall 2011 fashion catwalks in March this year I was left in no doubt that statement hats were the statement for the season. While they wouldn’t all necessarily translate to the street, it was easy to depart the catwalks of the likes of Louis Vuitton and Burberry Prorsum with an image of their headpieces firmly imprinted on one’s retina.

Perusing i-D’s interpretation of the coming season will leave you with much the same impression. Yes, Raquel Zimmermann is adorned in all manner of statements from sheers to crop tops, from figure hugging leather to the curled hair whose resurgence I’m attempt to avoid writing about. Yet for all the looks, it’s likely to be Louis Vuitton’s bell boy inspired headpieces that stick in your mind

Late one Oxford night Daniel P Dykes set about creating a fashion publication that would go someway to being an arbiter on fashion as it appeals to the emerging power generations: those who don't remember a world without the Internet and for whom work plays second fiddle to pleasure. And so Fashionising.com was born as a publication for those who were focussed not just on fashion's trends, but on society's too, and how those trends could all go to heighten the art of living. Hence, Daniel sees a future where, for those young at heart, both fashion and style are grounded in traditional quality, but with a youthful, sensualised edge. Daniel is Fashionising.com's Editor in Chief and Chairman.
