There’s nothing shy or demure about the Karolina Couture woman: at least, certainly not when it comes to the “Her Name Was Scarlet” collection. Bold and undeniably sexy, the collection none the less speaks to sheer luxury and craftsmanship above all else. Unlike other lingerie labels, Karolina Couture hand-makes each piece locally and in consultation with the customer, meaning individual body shapes are taken into account. The fabrics, too, are hand-picked for their quality and uniqueness: this collection, for example, features a unique Italian silk lace called ‘Valentino Rosso’ (yes, after Valentino’s signature red). Designer Karolina Stysiak didn’t just use it in her pieces, she bought all of it in existence to make it exclusively part of her collection.
Adding to the luxury and drama of the pieces is the campaign for the collection, shot by Jaychoh and featuring model Charlie Octavia. Lush settings form the backdrop while smokey makeup and glamorous hair – both by Janelle Han – and gorgeous styling by Zoe Van Zanten work their way perfectly into the finished imagery.
