Memories: devil-may-care bohemian beauty

There is a lightness that runs through this shoot; the marriage of soft natural light and poetic pose lifts the notions of a fleeting memory; a dream-like remembrance of beguiling vintage style.

The bohemian chic fashion is fused with a French elegance; note the expression of pattern and the importance of colour; all of the cold, hot and muted hues coming through in the different ensembles. Photographer Sara Pellegrino uses soft lighting to create the faded and ethereal look pertaining to one’s memory.

Makeup, done by Guilia Schirru, and hair, done Bruno Gagliano, reflects the glamourous conceptions of the ’50s. The long rolling curls and the elegantly wound updo’s reflect the sophistication behind the fashionable wear, accompanied by the enrapturing combination of porcelain skin, pale lips and accented cats-eyes.

Edmee Nicolis (model) is the perfect dame; beautiful, innocent, mysterious, insouciant. Draped in these glorious fashion pieces she is the perfect centrepiece for this whimsical and graceful shoot.

Born into the humble town of Franschhoek, South Africa it was little wonder that Chevaun Roux would find her flavour in life through good food, good wine and stylish apparel. After completing a Bacherlors Degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics the world of freelance writing became the first choice in occupation, with no regrets and having never looked back. With a zest for anything with colour, vibrance and essence she found herself diving further into the world of fashion and design; from thifting vintage wedding dresses to pouring through new and modern jewelry pieces. This self anointed bohemian indentity believes in all the partisan revolutionary ideals of love, beauty and freedom, and when she isn’t writing or editing you can find her at the kitchens helm creating her latest milkshake masterpiece.
