For all its grand boulevards, there’s a real beauty to Barcelona’s smaller alleys. They don’t wind like older parts of Europe, instead they stand either side, leaving the odd balcony to hang over you as you walk underneath. Were this Verona, a Juliet might appear at any stage.
Barcelona’s alleys are neat by day and evocative by night, provided you find the right one. Though that didn’t prove to be a problem walking between the city’s bars on a temperate evening with blogger Doina Ciobanu.
