Playing paper-doll dressups in the real world

When it comes to time and pace and the speed at which the world moves, we often forget about the simple and delicate ways of living life; the softness of physical touch becoming lost in a digital age, the innocence of a child playing outside vanishing in the technological living of today. With the creativity and vision of pure make-believe Luca Meneghel creates a fashion photography shoot with all the fantasy and childlike gentleness that is lost in the hard edges of todays world.

This paper-doll rendition of fashion and photography grabs ones imagination and allows the eyes to wonder off into the vintage world of soft light, pastel colours and dreamlike photographic sequences. Hair and make up, done by Sabine Gutwenger, is pure and royal – with deep auburn locks either being drawn back in sweeping arcs, or allowed to hang loosely down the nape of model Maria Palagushkina’s neck. Her makeup is subtle, with natural highlights around the lips and eyes.

Norma Nardi, the stylist on the this shoot, takes the present style back to it’s elementary phase of design, with simple hand drawn covers of fashion-to-be. Using this technique she and Meneghel create the paper-doll style that echoes throughout the shoot.

Born into the humble town of Franschhoek, South Africa it was little wonder that Chevaun Roux would find her flavour in life through good food, good wine and stylish apparel. After completing a Bacherlors Degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics the world of freelance writing became the first choice in occupation, with no regrets and having never looked back. With a zest for anything with colour, vibrance and essence she found herself diving further into the world of fashion and design; from thifting vintage wedding dresses to pouring through new and modern jewelry pieces. This self anointed bohemian indentity believes in all the partisan revolutionary ideals of love, beauty and freedom, and when she isn’t writing or editing you can find her at the kitchens helm creating her latest milkshake masterpiece.
