Every shot in Juan Carlos Verona’s black and white shoot for Bambi’s 14th issue is gorgeous; but only one is perfect. It’s a photo of model Alice Rausch staring directly into the soul of the camera, hair mussed up into a ’60s style bouffant with a curtain of a fringe flicking away from her long-lashed eyes. It’s one of the shots where the naked body doesn’t feature so prominently, and it doesn’t need to: nothing should distract from the pure beauty of the model’s doe eyes and delicate features, and the perfection of the makeup and hair styling in complimenting them.
This is subjective opinion, of course. You might prefer one of the images of equally beautiful model Mariana, hair gelled into vintage-style waves that curve behind her ear revealing a tiny star; or a shot of the two models, skin on skin and manicured hands intertwined. Between the beauty of the models, the hairstyling by Jamie Benny, and the makeup by Elizabeth Hsieh, there’s much to love.
