You can tell that London’s spring has so far seen more spring rain than it has spring sun when my focus is constantly being drawn to summer themed photo shoots. I’m no beach addict, give me the deck of a yacht any sunny day of the week, but as summer looms on the calendar the number of sun worshipping photo shoots grows exponentially, each vying to fill you with a wanderlust for a sunny spot on the globe.
Ponystep magazine take the wanderlust one step further, infusing their California Dreaming pictorial with a heady sense of the youth and frivolity that people oft wish their summer vacations will be laden with.
That entails everything from scenes so sun soaked that even the surf has turned a burnt share of orange to skies so blue that you’ll probably look outside your window with more than a little envy. And that’s the point, even if you’re not the type to roller-skate beside a beach or sun bake topless on it, California Dreaming is selling the lifestyle, selling the title’s dream. And photographer Doug Inglish has captured it perfectly.
