Don’t let summer creep up on you. Take it from someone who’s writing this in the Northern half of the world, where winter’s icy fingers are starting to firm their grip, chilling my own as I type. No – embrace every drop of sunshine you can get, have your swimsuit a-ready to throw on at a moment’s notice, bask in the warmth and the opportunity for pool-side glamour it presents you with.
That goes for everyone, every size. We don’t all love our bodies and our shapes (in fact, very few people do) but that’s no reason to shy away from summer. Vintage-style swim pieces make good the promise of full-figured allure. Waists cinch and halter necks accentuate curves, while accessories – wide-brimmed hats, big jewel earrings, brightly coloured wedges, and retro sunglasses – transcend the wearer from mere swimmer to silver screen starlet.

Mercy Watson, who starred in a stunning shoot for us recently, features alongside famously curvy Robyn Lawley – the first plus-size model to be shot for Australian Vogue – in this new editorial for AWW Magazine. Styled by Mattie Cronan and photographed by Corrie Bond, it highlights the most flattering swimwear styles for all shapes, and does so with an edge of old-world glamour.
