A film does not have to be in colour to make you really appreciate its beauty. Even black and white films that are tastefully done can capture your attention. A good example is this short film by Yasmine Eslami & Dominique Richon called Queeny. It was shot in the beautiful garden that has inspired a lot of paintings, the Les Jardins de Monet.
The film starts with a girl looking very innocent yet tempting. It cuts through a wide shot of a pond surrounded by plants, trees and water lilies. The only movement we see is the swaying of branches and leaves and the model undressing. Between the peacefulness of nature, the beauty of model Queeny Van der Zande, and the soft music by Sebastien Tellier, it makes for a very calm and inviting scene.
