The sad irony of the digital age: often the more friends we have, the more isolated we become.

Of course the definition of “friends” here are the kind that are collected not formed, branched out into sprawling online networks that lose any sense of intimacy. Studies have made much of how anti-social our social networks can actually be. Youth in particular can be isolating at the best of times and it seems the results of online networks are mixed at best.

Remi Rebillard’s (remirebillard.com) latest shoot centers around youth and isolation. It’s beautiful, forlorn, a young girl taking refuge from loneliness in the surf and sea.

The only other characters in this scene are faceless in the shadows. It’s just the youthful beauty of model Madison (@ P Models), waiting for a brighter day.

With hair and makeup by Marianne Tamposi, Remi’s shoot was photographed on the sands of Boynton Beach, Florida. You can view it full at the gallery.

Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
