Dark skin, white dresses, blue skies: Riviera

Who doesn’t dream of escape? A holiday is just that because it’s an escape from everyday life; it’s the change in pace that makes the sun and sand so much sweeter. FASHIONTREND Magazine’s 30th issue is a celebration of summer escapades, of the kind of glamour that can only be found where diamonds are at home against the sparkling sea during the day, and below the stars at night. It’s a tribute to days spent soaking up sun, collecting up memories like seashells off a shore, slipping heels on to dance at night and slipping them off again for a midnight dip in the sea.

The cover shoot by Carmeron Grayson nails that feeling. The absolute beauty of model Elizabeth Manyuon – full lips, long limbs, skin like chocolate gold under the sun – is complimented by Vass Arvanitis’ styling and the dusting of metallic makeup by Belinda Zollo. Skin like this doesn’t just look great with bright whites and sparkling jewels, it demands them.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
