Sun-drenched sensuality

It could be the glow of a secluded holiday spot on the Mediterranean; there’s little to give away the Southern Sydney beach location of Henryk Lobaczewski’s (henrykphoto.com) visually intoxicating photoshoot. Lobaczewski wanted to strip back the styling on the series to keep the shoot honed in on the sensual mood. Stylist Lydia-Jane Saunders (lydiajanesaunders.com) did the job brilliantly, selecting pieces with visual as well as tactile texture and luxuriousness: the kind of pieces that are themselves sensual on the skin.

And more than the looks themselves is the shoot about the luxuriousness of it all. It’s about the freedom to bask in both warmth and solitude. The whole shoot is steeped in sun-drenched sensuality and offers up the kind of escape where the models’ situation – one of leisure for leisure’s sake – becomes our own. It’s hard to view a shoot such as this and not wish it was your own senses awash with heat and light and salty sea breeze, such is the power of Henryk’s photos.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
