Who is Andy Murphy?
Murphy is most commonly recognized for his musical and producing talents however he is quickly realising that the fashion industry have their eye on his effortless sense of style.
In fact the fashion industry have somewhat adopted Murphy as an unofficial style icon; although fashion was a secondary interest, Murphy exemplifies the potent mix of music and fashion combined. Named as ‘The Man of Calibre’ last year and honoured as a “Friend Of The Festival” for the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival this year, it’s safe to say that Murphy has firmly cemented his position in the fashion world.
In a recent photoshoot with David Higgs Photography, set atop Melbourne’s skyline at the Adelphi Hotel, Murphy featured in an array of inspiring summer looks styled by Christina Chloe. The photo shoot projected a charming and playful aesthetic in which Andy lazed about the rooftop absorbing the late afternoon sun. The series of photographs captures Murphy’s ability to project simplicity whilst maintaining a fearless adoption of colour, all of which is a silent nod to the nature in which he approaches his life and music. The shoot channelled the sophistication of the Don Draper era combined with a modern take on mens fashion.
Although music and fashion have always been intrinsically linked, it seams that the fashion industry chose Murphy and not the other way around. Murphy’s charismatic presence on stage parallels his playful sense of style, and is undoubtedly a winning combination.
