Swimwear and sunshine: saying hello to summer

It’s not as if there’s ever any excuse required to enjoy a light, bright photoshoot that stars colourful bikinis, splashes of cool water, and glistening sunlight in equal quantities… But – for those in the Southern Hemisphere – there happens to be good reason to enjoy this one anyway. Summer is about to burst through the door like a welcome old friend. The title of Steve Marais’ shoot echos the sentiment with informal ease: Oh, heya Summer!.

Jessica Lupton (at Gaschette) styled the shoot in a way that’s both chic and fun. Those first hot days of summer aren’t for being serious, after all – sometimes you just have to put on your Spongebob goggles and run under the sprinklers.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
