Creating an impact through frozen images can be a challenging and demanding task. It is not often that a still-life has the ability to draw one in and incite such a strong emotional attachment to a shoot. There is a quietness to this photography shoot; a settling of sensation and an almost ethereal peace. Photographer Paul Morel focuses on reflecting the internal emotion of the character, without the encumbering layers of fashion or clothing. The nudity in the shoot creates an intimate connection with the viewer, using the curves and arches of the body to create expression and meaning. Valariia Karaman, model, is the perfect canvas for this stirring intention, her cream white skin and the delicate detail of her features create a complete look of something that is both completely aloof but all encompassingly desirous. The effect, when combined with the wrapping and twinning of the veil material, is mesmerising, allowing Karaman to exude a melancholy softness of silent reverie.
