The sticky sweet darkness of the grungy getup

The nonchalance of grunge wear never goes without notice when viewing the overall impression of these gorgeously grim photo shoots. Photographed by Daniel Savage, this slim and slinking frame on fashion is heavily toned with the ideas of androgyny and 1990’s polished street-wear. The simplistic and classic use of black and white, as put forth by stylist Mark Holmes, allows you to fall completely into the mood of the shoot; sullen, sexual, dour.

There is a perfect connection between the slender qualities of a female figure and the masculine elements of effeminate clothing: shapely coats, tight fitting cotton pants and delicate silver accessories meet bulking soldier boots, oversized waist-coats and leather finishes. This mesmerizing photography shoot done for The Wild Magazine is a truly beguiling presentation of someone beautiful wearing some beautiful things in a morbidly unconventional manner.

Hair, done by Staci Child, and make-up, by Jessica Ross, complete the look and the feel of the shoot. Deeply smoky eyes compliment the teased and poofed jet-black strands of model, Brenda’s head.

Born into the humble town of Franschhoek, South Africa it was little wonder that Chevaun Roux would find her flavour in life through good food, good wine and stylish apparel. After completing a Bacherlors Degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics the world of freelance writing became the first choice in occupation, with no regrets and having never looked back. With a zest for anything with colour, vibrance and essence she found herself diving further into the world of fashion and design; from thifting vintage wedding dresses to pouring through new and modern jewelry pieces. This self anointed bohemian indentity believes in all the partisan revolutionary ideals of love, beauty and freedom, and when she isn’t writing or editing you can find her at the kitchens helm creating her latest milkshake masterpiece.
