You know that old line: Location, location, location. It can be as true for photoshoots as for where to pop up the latest Starbucks franchise. Location matters, but so, too, does making the absolute best use of it. In some unnamed hotel space that pits opulent furnishings against sanded back hardwood floors and provincial cabinets, Yves Kortum’s shoot for Bambi Magazine issue XVI brings the two-babes-in-lingerie concept to the next level. You’ll know it when you get to the shot of the two models sprawled across a tabletop in opposite directions, linking forearms as if cast from some classical statue. In this artistic vision they’re not cocooned in drapes of white fabric but strapped into Nichole De Carle breast-bearing bodysuits, accessorised with Tamzim Lillywhite’s fetish leather-eared headpieces.

All the lingerie in fact – supplied by Mise En Cage and styled by Lidiya Kortum-Avvakumova – nods softly to bondage. Kortum utilises it in every space, from bedroom to bath, photographed in window light, shadowy rooms and in mirror reflections. Say it again: location, location, location. But then, having beautiful models like Patrizia Lauer and Teodora Srol, glamorous hair and makeup by Eva Pilartz & Katharina Gutjahr, and Kortum’s skill as a photographer surely completes the winning final product.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
