The thing that We Are Handsome has done so successfully is manage to blend a kind of cool glamour with what are ultimately very functional pieces of swimwear. In the absense of any cutaways, embellishments, straps, buckles or ties, a traditionally cut one-piece can still be made wholly appealing if the digital print is bold enough. That’s not to say they only make simple functional cuts: as their full collection on the runway attested, the brand is capable of so much more.

For the collection’s campaign a chocolate-box selection of those styles is on display. Bodycon dresses and leggings, a balconette bikini with tap-pant style shorts, an off-shoulder bodysuit in a sparkling bubble print, and a strapless feminine vintage rose-print piece… the ‘Matriarch’ collection has plenty of variety, but everything in it feels like the brand.

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for Fashionising.com, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
