White fire, black ice

Some pictures aren’t meant to keep you guessing for long, laying out bits and pieces of a reality that’s stripped down to its bare essence, lacking any signs of embellishments, yes, but never meaning. Other photographs instead appear to be conceived to shape up a string of fantasies alone, never seeming quite real but inviting one to at least hope that what they paint is entirely possible. They build sequences suspended between worlds, where colors are known to loose their substance.

Photographed by Carola Doornbos, Ceylin De Jong becomes veiled by white fire and coated in glazed ice.

Gorgeous styling by Lola Khodjaeva collides lightweight, sheer fabrics with soft lace and tough leather, keeping the overall feel of the photo shoot ethereal and minimalistic. Bold graphic eyes with glitter accents, glossy eyeshadow and dramatic white touches by Naida Akaeva complement the unearthly beauty look.
