Since taking this in-depth look at the future warrior as a thematic 2010 fashion trend, I've been waiting patiently for some good street style examples to arise. This one hails from Singapore, and though simple enough, evokes the warrioress theme by way of the exposed shoulders, over the knee socks, and the spiked tribal jewellery.

Taking Pandora onto the streets of Paris, student Denni combines Avatar 3D glasses (yes, that's by her own confession), seemingly Wayfarer inspired, with super hot boots by Bebe and acid wash boy shorts by American Apparel. The suspenders as outerwear are a bold sexy touch to this tech-glam outfit.

I can't find much not to like about this outfit. The charcoal over the knee socks are simple and elegantly paired with black wedges (and the heels are not too high); the skirt is short but not tight (a tight mini may have been overkill with the socks); and the homemade head wrap is more grown-up than the bow headband trend. Having the figure for it all certainly helps too.

When else but during one of the year's fashion weeks can we indulge in a pairing of fur, a revivalist take on the 1960s turban, and a vintage bicycle?

It's not the most natural of red hair colours (and we maintain that natural is best); but this striking street style picture demonstrates just how perfect red tresses can look against a bold, bright colour.

No, it's not a part of the sheer clothing trend, but it's possibly equally as daring.

Take everything from tweed to tartan, put them together, and what have you got? A look that Ralph Lauren would be proud of. Or, as it is in this case, JS Dundee.

Attempting to discern all the layers that go to make up this look is, sadly, beyond me this early on a Sunday morning. But with a hint of the top of a stocking and the nude and black lace bustier, this is one look that epitomises the sexual confidence of the lingerie as outerwear women's trend.

Photographer James Bort captures a vintage-chic look comprised of plush fur, a checked bow blouse, Dior bag and oversized sunglasses.

This is one look I love doing in Winter: warm over the knee socks showing under boots. It just makes me think of falling leaves and cosy fires and big puddles.
