T.V - Space and futurism were the inspiration behind T.V.'s collection at L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Week (LMFF) last week. Two trends which weaved their way through the week's collections - the shimmering galaxies of stars we've seen on a number of dresses, and the imitation leather leggings that accessorised many a show - were evident here.

Richard Nylon - Eccentric milliner Richard Nylon certainly didn't play it safe with his bold and beautiful collection of head pieces at L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Week (LMFF). Seemingly inspired by all things from the depths of winter, the collection conjured images of mythical ice-queens and snow palaces with its icicle-like spikes, feathers and glittering meshes.

There were a few beautiful Marilyn-esque moments on the LMFF L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival catwalk on Wednesday, and for any snapper quick enough to catch them they were there for the taking. But those moments were rare, and for the most part the models were battling it out against gale-force winds in what was not an easy task. Floaty dresses and free-flowing hair gave the wind ample of opportunity to cause mischief. For the most part the models managed to keep their cool and carry on.
Wayne Cooper, Christensen Copenhagen, Third Millennium, Dizingof and Cactus Jam were the stores whose wares were on parade.

Martin Grant - Houndstooth, ruffles and florals all made an appearance in this show at L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Week (LMFF). Grant's dresses were elegant and classic, and his bell-sleeved coats looked cosy and carried an elegance of their own.

Fleur Wood - Pretty. If you asked for a one-word description of Fleur Wood's L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Week (LMFF) collection, that's the response you'd get. Pretty fabrics with feminine detail, at times shunning the mini-dress trend in favour of knee-length hems. Black and white were the colours of choice in this delicate set of garments.

TL Wood - The colour palette didn't stray too far from grey and black in the TL Wood collection shown at L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Week (LMFF). Despite its safety, however, there were some pretty pieces that will doubtless make for simple yet pretty winter wear.

Willow - Kit Willow has a distinct style that is difficult to describe, but for the most part it involves equal parts of simplicity and attention to detail; and almost always results in a look that is sexy without being obvious. On the runway at L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Week (LMFF) 2007 Willow stuck to that distinct style meaning fans won't have been disappointed. Pretty dresses ruled the show, with a gorgeous white dress with silver detailing a definite highlight.

By far one of the spectaculars of L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival, and certainly not a fashion show in the traditional sense, we now have photos from the Esprit 'skywalk' event in the Fashion Diary.

The sad thing is, Esprit managed to use some of the worst clothes from the current range, while their better clothes adorned the windows of their shop only a few metres away.

Pyjama and night-ware designer Peter Alexander held his 20 year retrospective yesterday with a fashion show held as a part of the L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival. Like many of the other shows held as a part of the festival it certainly was a 'spectacular' with dancing sets and gorgeous models aplenty.

Alexander has certainly managed to change the pyjama industry in Australia, and it isn't out of the ordinary to find a girl wearing his pieces as day wear such is their quality. This season's collection similarly won't disappoint. Look our for tartan pieces, a trend we also saw on the catwalk of Victoria's Secret, and long Winter night-ware.
