It has to be said: fashionisers loved lingerie as outerwear, in fact it's been one of the most popular fashion trends we've written about of late. No, I don't think it sent you all running to your lingerie draw in a bid to parade down the street wearing those cute little nothings you picked up at Agent Provocateur and Coco de Mer; but that's not to say that we haven't spotted some lingerie as outerwear street style.

We know Victoria Beckham is a fan; and lately it would appear that Mischa Barton is too. Louis Vuitton's Spicy heels from their Spring/Summer 2009 collection are pretty much the item that epitomises 2009's tribal trend. As demonstrated by both Victoria and Mischa, these beaded and feathered shoes can quite literally spice up many an outfit.

It's an odd combination, but it somehow works. Mischa Barton paired the heavily rock-influenced elements of the ripped jeans trend and the studded heels shoe trend, and then mixed in a preppy striped blazer, union-jack tee, and skull-print scarf.

Wearing an emerald green floor-length gown from her Kate Moss for Topshop Spring/Summer 2009 collection, Kate Moss joined Sir Phillip Green at the launch of Topshop's new flagship store in New York last week. Kate teamed her frock with elegant diamond chandelier earrings, but then added her trademark rock-chic cool by way of a black leather jacket.

Could anyone really be that cruel?

Could anyone make a show about the dearly-departed and then go on to consciously commit a fashion crime so heinous that it might leave people wanting to go to the other side?

It seems that Jennifer Love Hewitt may be just such a person. She might also be the sort of person who has managed to surpass double denim, the year's worst fashion trend. Yes I scarcely thought it possible, but not so; you see Love Hewitt has managed to find enough layers of denim in her wardrobe to hit the streets in something far, far worse. Triple denim.
