Military Jacket Trend: Paris Street Style
AUTHOR DATE TIMEThe military jacket trend is one we'd earmarked as a prominent one for Autumn (Fall)/Winter 2009. The wonderful Garance Dore snapped two examples of the trend for her Paris street style blog recently.
The two variations on the trend show the difference a unique and detailed piece can make to an outfit.

Keira Knightley & Sienna Miller: red carpet style
AUTHOR DATE TIMECo-stars and friends Keira Knightley and Sienna Miller walked the red carpet together recently at the 2008 British Independent Film Awards. Sienna Miller wore a Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2009 black embellished mini-dress (which incorporated the backless trend by way of an open back) and Christian Louboutin heels. Keira Knightley's Balenciaga dress was a tad more demure, despite the sheer trend elements.

Olga Kurylenko in a Chanel Dress and Cornrows
AUTHOR DATE TIMEBond Girl Olga Kurylenko seems to be a fan of the mermaid dress trend. Having already stepped out in a striking black Dolce & Gabbana fishtail dress in Rome, she most recently attended the film's premiere in Tokyo in a fish-scale Chanel gown.
But while milkmaid braids have emerged as a hair trend for 2009, we're not so sure that Olga's cornrows are going to take off in a big way.

Rihanna in a Gucci one-shoulder dress
AUTHOR DATE TIMEI may not have been too impressed with Rihanna and the Gucci Tattoo Heart collection campaign; but Rihanna's outfit for the collection's NY launch was somewhat better. Mixing elements from two of the biggest 2009 trends - the Grecian Goddess trend and one-shoulder trend - her red Gucci mini-dress was right on target.
