Yet another take on exposed lingerie as a fashion trend; and a very cool one at that. Hanneli made sure her silver metallic bar was one worth exposing when she paired it with this simple grey tee with scooped-out sleeves.

Miranda Kerr and her Alex Perry dress may have turned plenty of heads at Saturday's Caulfield Cup, but the dozens of other fashionable race-goers didn't escape our attention. The David Jones marquee was shared by celebrities, sports stars, fashion designers and corporate head honchos alike. We snapped shots of the social scene throughout the day.

At Saturday's BMW Caulfield Cup, the David Jones marquee was buzzing with life. The brand's fashion ambassador - model and Victoria's Secret angel Miranda Kerr - was undoubtedly the star attraction, swanning about gracefully in a short, nude-pink Alex Perry dress. Kerr chatted casually to the other guests and we spied her, on more than one occasion, tucking into the dainty finger food as if to openly defy the weight issue rumors that have been plaguing her recently (and we might add that, in person, Miranda looks no less healthy than usual).
Kerr's dress was accessorised by a Nerida Winter floral head-piece and, contrastingly, snake-skin Christian Louboutin heels.

In the second episode of The Fashionising.com Insight, our fashion podcast, I quizzed Tania about the re-emergence of 'Cool Britannia' as a fashion trend. Be it in the form of the female dandy or otherwise we agreed that, while not a major cultural trend, 'Cool Britannia' was definitely an element of current fashion trends. And here's an instance of Cool Britannia street style, this one firmly in the 'otherwise' category courtesy of this young lady's Union Jack clutch.

Two days ago I tipped patched denim as an emerging fashion trend. And here's another example, fresh from the streets, and paired with a basic tee and a boyfriend blazer.

If ever there was a perfect time to pull out the feather trend, then this just had to be it. Blake Lively attended the New York premiere of Where The Wild Things Are - Spike Jonze's film adaptation of the classic children's book - in a feathered Marchesa dress.

It takes some daring to pull off this extreme take on the feather trend. Luckily Leigh Lezark's raven hair and brooding looks seem to meld seamlessly with the Giambattista Valli peacock dress she wore to Paris Fashion Week.

We've seen many instances of the women's military fashion trend on the streets; and while good men's military looks are to die for, they're seemingly not as frequently spotted. This London street style shot shows just how effective a good military piece can be, the young male model's otherwise unexciting ensemble of black skinny jeans and a grey tee completely transformed by a navy military coat with gold buttons.
