The latest accessory collection from Hungarian brand Anna Amelié takes its inspiration from the sea, as is a recurrent theme this spring. The newly launched Pearl Oyster campaign doesn’t opt for soft and dreamy imagery, though; instead photographer Mark Viszlay captured the images with all the vibrance and saturation of a coral reef. While no doubt there was much about 18th century life that would preclude it from earning the title of glamorous, that may also have much to do with where you sat on the social divide. If you were born into castles and powdered wigs, glamour might have had plenty to do with it. That’s the side we often see interpreted through cinema and popular culture. …

The differences between Spanish retailers Mango and Zara have been something of a mini-theme for us of late, and we can now add another element into the discussion: Mango’s autumn / fall 2012 campaign.

Yesterday we looked Mango’s spring / summer 2012 look book and, from a perspective of the success of Zara versus Mango, focussed on why Zara gets the buzz and Mango little love. You can add another element to the equation today: inconsistency.
