My Style

My style as a makeup artist is very versatile, and I aim to cater my work to the artistic directors desires. I love the beauty of a good foundation, and find it essential to a good makeup. I love doing out there makeup, as well as body painting and special effects.

My personal style is full of colour and encentricity. I love bright colourful clothing, usually paired with some sort of denim. I often have brightly coloured hair, and find my hair is regularly changing. I like to play with different outfits and layering, and a lot of my clothing is found, swapped or bought cheap. I love keeping things unpredictable.

Favourite Labels

Can't say I have favourite labels that I wear, though I do love Valleygirl for cheap items you can dress up or down (good for everyday wear pieces), Sunny Girl for their understanding of cuts, and I really admire the works of Christian Dior, Roberto Cavalli, Zac Posen and Alex Perry.

Best Feature

i like my eyes, but my infectious laughter is also a good feature i think. my laugh tends to spread to others, which means never a dull moment.

Something You Should Know

something you should know about me... i have a strange and highly disconcerting (to those who have never heard it before) laugh. i have acquired many and varied nicknames from said laugh, including pterodactyl, seagull, dolphin, squeeky bike brake, car alarm and so on. you will be safe unless you really really get me laughing though.

Interests

Makeup, fashion, people, photography, fire twirling, art, drawing, food, music, books, films, fun. I love a lot of things actually.

Hates

When people can't be bothered to learn the difference between the three there's... their, they're and there.
the word c*%k. more than any other word really.
eggplant.
when other people drive my car.
people who use their blinkers incorrectly, or worse, don't use them at all. They're not for decoration people!

Music

so many wonderful musicians out there. john butler trio, xavier rudd, blue king brown, nelly furtado, jordan millar, delerium, aude, omarion, gym class heroes, dido, jackson jackson, deep forest, bjork, APC, crazytown, the butterfly effect, tool, imogen heap, fort minor, akon... heaps more. I'm always interested in new bands, so if you know of someone great, let me know.

Reading

just finished reading kitchen confidential by anthony bourdain for the second time. tis a good book. i love a lot of books... the otori series by lian hearne, the assassins apprentice, the liveship traders and the golden fool series' by robin hobb, harry potter series, cook books, makeup magazines, work by kevin aucoin, hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, clockwork orange by anthony burgess, perfume by partick suskind, the bride stripped bare, the troy game series by sara douglass... and more.

Going out to a music festival, watching some great bands, then heading off with friends to do fire twirling and hang out. Meeting new, fun people is always a plus for a great night out.

my friends... you may not think this impressive, but some of my friends are the best people i know. i know quite well one of the costume makers who worked on the star wars movies, a very talented lady. and no, i wont name drop here.
