As ever the Arthur Galan AG collection, this time for Spring 2010, invites you to get your Euro on. Hitting the Melbourne fashion week (MSFW) catwalk with a smattering of men’s and women’s looks, the men’s are AG as you’ve come to expect it: shorts with sportcoats, piped blazers, and buttoned collars. Yes, you’ve seen it all before, but consistency needn’t damage a brand’s appeal – and it certainly shan’t for AG.
Unfortunately while the cuts and looks appeal, you’ll notice a difference in quality between the mens’ and women’s part of the collection. As is to be expected, it’s the latter that’s in favour: men’s tailoring is that much harder to do.
While the womenswear of the show neatly tied in with the men’s by way of masculine, tailored elements, it was perfectly balanced out by the types of floating printed dresses that can only be worn with the utmost of femininity.
