Forever New‘s philosophy is in bringing out the feminine girly-girl who (supposedly) resides inside every one of us; and at last night’s launch of the retailer’s new collection, that philosophy shone through like a supernova in a pitch black sky. In sticking to their signature style the brand keeps its following frilled, flowered, and above all faithful. That much was clear from the crowd in attendance: not since it’s early days would the grand ballroom at the historic Rippon Lea Estate have housed so many blonde curls and ruffled gowns (though undoubtedly now with shorter hemlines).
With her pumpkin pie sweetness and crystal clear voice, popstar Delta Goodrem turned out to be a well chosen poster girl for the collection, performing a couple of numbers on a white baby grand while wearing a floor-length strapless gown from the collection. The parade that followed was not short on outfits, giving us everything from casual maxi-dresses and denim pieces through to garden party frocks and cocktail numbers.

If the prospect of uber-femininity doesn’t exactly thrill you, don’t worry – a lot of it comes down to the styling. Pick up a cute polkadot playsuit or some versatile accessories; a floppy straw hat, some 70s spring wedges; and mix them into your wardrobe. You’d be surprised at the types of looks you can come up with.
