Gary Bigeni has a particular, unmistakable style. It’s a combination of fabrics, draping and cut. One that, even amidst the cohesive grouping of the first official Melbourne fashion week (MSFW) catwalk, manages to stand out. His Spring 2010 collection is no different. Though sticking, in contrast to the likes of his Spring 2008 collection, to a largely neutral palette, the use of sheen and matt, draping, pleating and varied cuts mean that the overarching, muted hues never detract from the collection’s intended appeal.
