Some of the looks on the Gucci Autumn/Fall 2010 menswear runway mean that this is a men’s Fall 2010 collection that is not going to be for everyone. Roll-necks under blazers both in brown colour palettes? A furry leopard print jacket? But at the exclusion of those few things, Frida Giannini‘s collection shines through with the usual blend of smart and casual; with elements like velvet blazers, skinny white jeans, and slim-cut suiting repeatedly cropping up throughout, gelling it all together. The velvet really took centre stage towards the end of the show; rich velvet coats and blazers in plumb, midnight blue, and burnt orange created luxurious looks that will make the daring truly stand out.
As with any Gucci show the accessories were also stand-out. Silk scarves, loafers in reptile skin and leather, and elegant carry-all bags all helped to create an overall look.
