While most designers send the itty and bitty down their swimwear catwalks, Karen Neilsen’s RAFW showing did more to prove that your 2011 bikini doesn’t actually have to be one – it can actually be a one piece swimsuit. Dominated by a heavy use of print, Karen Neilsen’s range extends from the on-trend backless monokini all the way to the zip-front pieces styled after the sports swimsuits of yesteryear. Where bikinis did come into it, they were largely accessorised by open, flowing kaftans giving them a poolside feel.
