While unmistakable elements of Karl – the black and white palette, the high necks – found their way into Lagerfeld’s Spring/Summer 2010 runway show at Paris Fashion Week, the collection was overall a breath of fresh air. Playsuits taking on structured shapes; high-waisted shorts paired with cropped tailored jackets; immaculately shaped dresses in feminine silhouettes. And along with all that, a newly Summery take on the Female Dandy trend.
Though taking it back to basics – for it is, indeed, a saleable collection in these times – it wasn’t all minimal. Look closely and you’ll also see that Lagerfeld’s collection was accompanied by electric guitar motif accessories.
