Alex Perry’s epic Spring 2010 show

Everything about Alex Perry‘s Spring 2010 RAFW (Australian fashion week) show was massive: the crowd (of over 1,000 guests), the staff (300 plus), the hulking venue at Sydney’s Fox Studios and it’s 130 metre long runway (spare a thought for the models). The entire affair was as glittery as a thousand stars and as glamorous as a champagne glass full of diamonds. For those so inclined, it was a show not to be missed.

It goes without saying that Perry’s gowns were impressively detailed. First minidresses, later followed by the much anticipated floor-length numbers. The Arabian Princess themed show had sequins. It had lace appliques. It had feathers, and beading, and drapes, and folds. It even had zebra prints.

Hair stylist Renya Xydis and her team at GHD created big, voluminous hair which, when paired with dark, feline eyemakeup, transformed the models into shimmering, prowling lionesses.

Being somewhat difficult to do justice to Perry’s details using mere words, your best bet is to click on the gallery below and view all the pictures from the show.
