By placing her signature over a dramatic concept that in the end translated to an unforgettable fashion show, Sarah Burton successfully introduced the Alexander McQueen fall 2013 menswear collection in London (LFW). Having their faces hidden under scary plastic masks, the male models looked like characters dragged out of a horror story, a vision that powerful contrasted the impeccable tailoring and Burton’s unique reinterpretation of classicism and broken-down tradition.
The attention to detail, the nostalgic vintage influences and the elegant pinstripes wrapped in classic hues of black, white and gray, collided with the more striking accents featured in the velvet jackets, silk gowns and sleek coats, all smartly infused with bold colors and psychedelic prints. Where there’s Alexander McQueen, there will definitely be drama, but the kind that makes you long for more.
