An entire fall / winter 2013 collection dedicated to evening jumpsuits sounds like an intriguing enough concept, one that we got to witness this season courtesy of designer Anne Valerie Hash. Armed with a high level of creativity and plenty of imaginative energy, the designer didn’t felt like compromising her aesthetic and instead opted to aggressively seek for ways to translate her innovative vision again and again.
Described as the “new smoking”, Hash’s jumpsuits were cut in sleek, luxurious fabrics injected with a casual flair due to the sneakers galore that complemented each of the fifteen looks setting up the line. Styled in a different manner, the black, white and gray numbers could successfully replace a little black dress during cocktail hours. With tops mirroring deconstructed jackets and fitted bustier, the jumpsuits were designed as to give the illusion of smart separates at times, while at others they were accented with ultra-delicate Chantilly lace inserts and alluring side panels.
Menswear inspired turned feminine, Anne Valerie Hash’s half smoking, half-dress jumpsuits echoed a clean, determined vision that might have come across curious and difficult every now an then, but at least it didn’t settle for the obvious.
