When black holds all the answers, the results are usually the ones to speak in its favor: clean, well-thought and even better fused together, Barbara Bui’s fall / winter 2013 collection may have hit the one familiar rock and roll note, but her focus and rigor gave place to a variety of chic and edgy looks, all departing from the same tight and perfectly fitted signature cut. And this is what Bui does best.
The silhouettes borrowed from the exuberant sixties, infusing the line with a sense of confidence and a powerful attitude via the large selection of flared trousers, sleek jackets and coats, and light lace blouses, all reading masculine, but giving forth a strong taste of femininity. Mostly carved in leather, but also making use use of python, delicate lace and bold embellishments, the collection clearly reached for the stars. Superstars even if we were to think about the gold-sequin halter top, the fearless shoulder embroideries and the smoking gold metallic tuxedo that closed the emblematic show.
