Unlike many of the times before, this season Max and Lubov Azria treated the designs process as an undivided force, starting from the inside and delicately pushing their limits as they were reimagining a way out. The results struck as an array of perfectly layered looks that happened to talk a great deal about the depths of simplicity. BCBG Max Azria’s fall / winter 2013 collection unveiled during New York fashion week (NYFW) managed to conserve its essence and effortlessly multiply its strengths.
The heart of the line up, the many silk shift dresses covered in a full spectrum of majestic prints were daringly inserted into almost each one of the looks that walked down the runway. Thrown over leather pants, worn under cool-looking chunky knits, topped by oversized jackets and styled with grungy beanies, the garments appeared light as air while striving for universality. The absence of intricacy gave place to a selection of simple, yet luxurious ensembles, much like the oxblood leather outfit that not only felt refreshingly easy, but also reinforced the idea of simplicity as a modern statement.
