Max Azria has managed to turn himself into the king of the leather harness. His BCBG runway at New York fashion week (NYFW) was full of them; flat pieces that sat close to the body and were often black and sometimes white, mostly layered over garments but sometimes worn under. For spring / summer 2013 said garments took the form of unstructured, almost flapper-esque lace panelled slips or easy leather apron-style dresses.
By the end of the show the mid-length hems gave way to floor-length ones; leather harnesses still present, only now the outfits were far more ethereal.
