Bec & Bridge opened their RAFW (Australian fashion week) show with Louise Van Der Vorst in a relaxed beige parker, the type you’d expect to spot on an off-duty model. Bec & Bridge know how to create that sense of effortlessness, and their Spring 2010 collection had it in volumes. The eerie desert landscape mentioned in the show notes was evoked through neutral tones of sand and bone, powdery dustings of colour on the models’ skin, and an unsettling fog across the Cargo Theatre runway.
Flowing fabrics were complimented by tribal necklaces. Other pieces were sparkling without being too polished, like rich jewels mined from some outback cave and untouched in their raw beauty.
