As the younger sister to Blumarine, the Blugirl brand has all the hallmarks of youthful glamour down pat. The way a young girl goes about fresh-faced, with hair worn down and flowing, the way she pairs scrunched down socks and flat boots with a floaty young-girl’s dress. For fall / winter 2013 that youthfulness was typically and reliably (in a good way) executed with a sense of luxuriousness and relevance.
Dresses with an androgynous, flapper-esque quality showed on the runway alongside animal prints trimmed in lace. Dragon motifs injected a tough orientalism to everything from metallics to furs and florals. Between the day-to-night frocks and heavy coats made for throwing over the top, there’s plenty for the Blugirl girl to lust over this fall.
