Evoking winter’s romance and trading this season’s characteristic heaviness for a light-as-air collection, Anna Molinari decidedly brought back to life Blumarine’s softer side, envisioning a fall / winter 2013 collection high on feminine notes and ultra-delicate cuts. Pretty and chic, dipped out in the most perfectly dyed pastels, the models came down the runway wearing dusted pink shearling biker jackets, voluminous coats made out of cashmere, blush turtle-necks and oversized leather trench coats paired to matching sequined pants.
The houndstooth pattern injected the collection with a classic urban vibe as spotted on a floor-grazing cape-dress ensemble, a luxe fur cape and a menswear inspired suit carrying exaggerated shoulders. The part of the collection referencing the “Dress in a Rose” musing was keen on further exploring femininity in a series of sequined gowns, mini-skirts adorned by large-scale floral patterns and other rose-shaped minis intriguingly layered over matching pants. Sexy see-through undertones contrasting with a tough kind of sensuality, complemented Blumarine’s vision this season, adding the spice to the sugar symbolizing the first half of the collection.
